What does the Telegram Data Scraper do?

It is a Chrome extension that helps you export and organize members, messages, and chat data from Telegram conversations you already have access to via Telegram Web. It injects a sidebar into web.telegram.org and provides four extraction modes with CSV, JSON, and JSONL export.

Does it work on Telegram Desktop or mobile?

No. The extension only works on Telegram Web (web.telegram.org) in a Chrome or Chromium-based browser. It does not work on Telegram Desktop, mobile apps, or third-party clients.

Power Mode connects directly to Telegram's MTProto API using GramJS — a JavaScript MTProto client running in your browser. It enables deeper extraction (full profiles, faster message history, mutual group discovery) by using your own Telegram API credentials (api_id and api_hash from my.telegram.org).

Do I need to provide my Telegram password?

For Web Mode, no credentials are needed — it reads the visible DOM. For Power Mode, you need your Telegram API credentials (api_id and api_hash from my.telegram.org) and will authenticate via a code sent to your Telegram account.

Can I extract from private groups or channels I'm not a member of?

No. The extension can only extract data from chats and groups you already have access to in your own Telegram account.

Is my extracted data sent to any server?

No. All extracted data stays in your browser. The only server communication is for account/billing sync and anonymized usage analytics. Your Telegram data is never sent to Mastros servers.

What export formats are available?

CSV (compatible with Excel and Google Sheets), JSON (pretty-printed array), and JSONL (newline-delimited JSON for streaming pipelines and tools like jq).

What happens if I hit a Telegram rate limit?

Power Mode automatically detects Telegram's FLOOD_WAIT errors, extracts the wait duration, and pauses extraction before resuming. You can also configure sleep intervals between API calls.

How much does it cost?

The Free plan includes 250 profiles/month, 300 messages/month, with every extractor and Power Mode unlocked and media preview only. Pro adds 5,000 profiles/month, 10,000 messages/month, and unlimited media downloads. Scale offers 100,000 profiles/month, 500,000 messages/month, and unlimited media downloads for high-volume needs. Can I download media (photos, videos, files) from a chat?

Yes. The Media Download mode bulk-downloads photos, videos, documents, audio files, and voice notes from any chat or channel you can access, with filters by media type, sender, and date range. Original filenames and metadata are preserved. Media downloads are unlimited on Pro and Scale plans; the Free plan supports preview only.
