Telegram Video Downloader

The Mastros Telegram extension downloads videos from web.telegram.org. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, open any Telegram chat or channel the signed-in account can already see, select Media Download, filter by Videos, and start the run. The extension saves every matching video as one ZIP in original quality.

Free to start · No sign-up · Works on any chat you can open

How it works

How to download videos from Telegram

Four steps, from an empty browser to a ZIP of videos on disk.

01

Add the extension

Install the Mastros Telegram extension from the Chrome Web Store. The extension runs in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and any other Chromium-based browser.

02

Open the chat or channel

Go to web.telegram.org and open the chat, group or channel that holds the videos. The extension reads the Telegram Web session already signed in.

03

Pick what to download

Open Media Download in the Mastros panel and say how many messages to scan. Each item comes back with its type and date, so the results can be narrowed to just the videos and the period you want.

04

Save the ZIP

Start the run. Every matching video downloads from Telegram to the browser and arrives as one ZIP with the original file names kept.

Every kind of media

What the Mastros Telegram extension downloads

The Mastros Telegram extension downloads six kinds of attachment from a Telegram chat. One run can take any mix of them, or just the videos.

Videos

Every video in the chat or channel, saved as the original file Telegram holds — not a compressed preview.

Photos and GIFs

Photos, GIFs and stickers, with their original file names and details kept as they were.

Documents and files

PDFs, archives and every other file type shared in the chat, whatever the extension.

Voice notes and audio

Voice messages, music and audio files, ready to play the moment the ZIP opens.

Media Download is one of five tools in the Mastros Telegram extension — the Telegram scraper also exports members, messages and contacts to Excel.

Honest comparison

Telegram video downloader options compared

Five approaches download videos from Telegram, and each one wins somewhere. Telegram Desktop's own Export chat history is free, official and genuinely good at whole-chat archives — it is the right answer for anyone happy to work from the desktop client. The Mastros Telegram extension is built for the browser instead: it runs on web.telegram.org, returns each item with its type and date so a run can be narrowed before anything is kept, and keeps every file on the direct path from Telegram to your own machine.

The other three deserve their caveats. Online paste-a-link tools cannot see a private channel at all, because an anonymous server fetching a t.me address sees exactly what a logged-out visitor sees. GitHub userscripts run locally and cost nothing, which is a real advantage, but they break whenever Telegram Web changes its markup and many are no longer maintained. Downloader bots need each file forwarded by hand, and the forwarded file arrives on the bot operator's server.

Every row states what each approach actually does, including where Telegram's own client is the better tool.

Downloading videos from private Telegram channels

A private channel is private about discovery, not access. Once your account has joined, its media downloads exactly like a public channel's, because the extension reads the Telegram Web session you are already signed into. No tool reaches a channel you have not joined — anything promising otherwise wants your phone number and login code.

What changes when saving is disabled

Telegram video downloader APK files and Android apps

A downloader APK from a forum is unsigned code with whatever permissions it asks for, and the ones targeting Telegram want a phone number, a login code or a session file — the account itself, not the video. Mastros is a Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store, and asks for none of them.

Telegram downloader bots compared with the Mastros extension

A bot needs every file forwarded by hand, caps a download at 20 MB on the standard Bot API, and puts the operator's server in the middle of the transfer. The extension downloads a whole channel in one filtered run, straight from Telegram to your browser. A bot is still fine for one occasional file on a phone.
